THE HERRIOT WAY

The Herriot Way is a four-day circular walk through Wensleydale and Swaledale.  With a total distance of approximately 52 miles, the walk is based on a holiday undertaken by the author Alf Wight (better known as James Herriot) and traditionally starts / finishes in Aysgarth with overnight stops in Reeth, Keld and Hawes.

‘The Herriot Way’, a guide to the walk (anti-clockwise) written and personally signed by the author Norman Scholes is available to purchase (£4 plus £1 p&p)

'Walking The Herriot Way' by Stuart W Greig provides comprehensive details and maps of the walk (both clockwise and anti-clockwise) and can be purchased as a PDF download from his website.

Luggage may be transferred between accommodation by either Sherpa Van or Brigantes.

Having undertaken the walk ourselves in 2007, we are happy to provide any advice required!  A photographic record of the walk is available on DVD.
